The University of Law (ULaw) has announced its first Successbury virtual festival taking place on Friday 21 August from 2pm-5pm. The event will bring together all new undergraduate students post results day to celebrate securing their place at The University of Law.
Reggie Yates, British actor and television presenter turned radio DJ, is headlining the festival, kicking off the festivities with a talk on success, education and positive contributions. Reggie’s opening talk will be followed by a DJ set from Guilty Pleasures on the main stage.
The Successbury virtual festival has been organised to celebrate students’ hard work and help them get to know their new peers and tutors before they start their courses in September.
Throughout the event there will be numerous topical talks from inspirational speakers, such as ULaw alumna and an Entrepreneur of the Year, Rachel Wang, ex Detective Chief Inspector, Steve Gaskin, and prisoner turned Guardian columnist, Erwin James.
There will also be taster sessions with ULaw tutors, such as Head of the Criminal team for the Bar Professional Training Course, Niall Carlin, and Director of Employment, John Watkins, to give students a taste of the courses they’ll be taking and familiarise themselves with some of the academic tutors.
Students will be able to put their skills to the test in the ‘Give it a Go’ booth, joining in with activities such as debating masterclasses with ULaw students, cross-examination sessions and blogging masterclasses.
